Annadale Mens Hockey Club Launch Schools Outreach program in conjunction with Denman and Belfast City Council.
Annadale Mens Hockey club today announced an expansion of their successful Schools Outreach program, bringing hockey to pupils in schools in the greater Belfast area.
Speaking at the launch, Club Chairman John Stephens said: “This is an exciting time as we seek to further grow the network of schools we are engaged with. We are currently engaging with almost 500 children and hope to grow this in the next school year to 1000. This program is all about bringing the sport of hockey to schools who would not otherwise have the opportunity to play it. The program has been operating for some time now and has proved very popular introducing hockey to children in a fun setting. We are indebted to Denman and Belfast City council without whose support this expansion would not be possible.”
Dr John F. Rainey MBE, Chairman of the Denroy Group commented: “Sport is a great way for children to exercise and you can see here at Knockbreda P.S. that the kids really enjoy it. The work that Annadale are doing with these schools is absolutely fabulous and long may we continue to support this.”
Mrs Sayers, Principal Knockbreda P.S. agreed: “Annadale hockey clubs Schools Outreach program has been fantastic for our school and our pupils have really engaged in the coaching sessions. The coaches have provided a range of fun activities which have benefitted pupils of all abilities.”
